This one's for the soccer fans: Liverpool FC wins for sustainable transformation at Sport Positive Awards
Recently, Liverpool Football Club of the English Premier League won the Transformation Award at Sport Positive Awards 2025 for their sustainability strategy, The Red Way. The Red Way is built on three core pillars of "Our People, Our Planet and Our Communities." Ways Liverpool FC has worked to address the climate crisis since the program's launch include:
-Planting 1,000+ trees and hedges around club sites
-Collaborated with 1PointFive to launch the world's first carbon-footprint-free football jersey
-Introduced 60,000 bees into green spaces to support biodiversity
The Red Way is an inspiring initiative that will hopefully pave the way for many more movements towards environmental and climate justice in sports. 🙌⚽
